I never really thought of my home town as a vacation destination when I was younger and growing up. It was a gorgeous place, and there was a nice lake nearby, but it didn't seem as if anything special to me. I guess that I sort of took it for granted, if you wish to know the truth. A lot of people do not know what they have til they really take a great look around. For me, this happened when I began to see signs for cottages to rent. They came up nearly overnight! One day, the only people I ever saw around were townspeople, and practically the following day, there were all these tourists leasing cabins and cottages.

I had also noticed the same thing when I went on vacation in Santa Barbara, staying in Santa Barbara hotels. People would save money on paying the rates for Santa Barbara hotels by leasing a cottage for the entire season! I looked at the night by night rate at Santa Barbara hotels versus the season-long rate of the bungalows, and it made lots of sense.

Seeing all of these people getting cottage rentals got me thinking. I realized that I had not ever done any overseas traveling, and that I most likely should while I am still youthful. I am kind of a homebody for the most part. Generally, I'm glad going to work, getting a drink or two at the pub after work, and going home to enjoy a great movie or book. It doesn't take very much to make me glad. Nevertheless, I have always wanted to travel - especially to Europe. I have some family members in Britain who I have never met, and it appears like the perfect time to go visit them. If I can find cottages to rent, we can all get away for a bit and enjoy the well known English countryside together.

Since that time, I've been researching British cottages for rent. I had not really been prepared for how much it costs to travel abroad. Still, I've been saving and saving money for awhile, so it shouldn't be too hard to afford a couple of weeks in the British countryside this summer. Even some of these British cottages to rent are pretty inexpensive if you can get them when they're having a deal.

I actually think that I have found a bungalow to rent that is ideal for my needs. I am not sure yet, but it is looking better and better. Even though it's outside of town just a bit, you can still ride the bus into London. This means that I can visit the countryside, but have a bit of time in the city as well! I cannot wait to go!
